I’m in need of a few volunteer staff for a relaunching of a web service. It’s nothing special, or unique, but I hope that this service can help someone out there.

I’d like to convert this website- HostmyHeart.com -into a donation-driven web hosting service, focused on community and the kindness of others. Originally, HostmyHeart.com launched as a paid-to-host service. But I’ve never felt right about it. Too many people making money out of it as it is.

I don’t want to be in it for the money. I want to show the world that there is such a thing as quality hosting with no costs to the end-user. I want to show the world that people are good, and appreciate the good work others do.

If you’d like to take part in helping with HostmyHeart.com, I would be incredibly thrilled! But as a donation-run service (or non-profit, to be exact), there is no way to pay staff. Hence, me looking for volunteers.

You will, however, be offered free hosting of course. You will have access to staff-only sections of the forum. You will be listed on the main website under Volunteer Staff, linking to your website(s). And of course, you get to help with a cause!

The current openings are:

• Promoters: 4 spots open
  Looking for people to help get the word out “On the street” about the service. Duties include: Post about the service on your blog (if you have one), ask friends or others if they need hosting (and point them in the right direction), spread the word on any forums you might take part in, help promote through Twitter (and other social media).
• Forum mods: 2 spot open
  The position of Global Moderator is already taken. But, I’m looking for section / category specific mods. Please, have prior forum moderating experience.
• Graphic Designer: 1 spot open
  I’m on the look-out for a graphic designer to create a logo, and possibly some work to place on products in the future. If applying for this position, you need to provide examples of your work, and need to agree to a contract.
