After-Christmas Shopping!

by @dm1n

I went to our local mall today and did a ton of shopping with the Christmas gifts friends and relatives gave me. How, you may ask? With gift cards and coupons! I got a ton of them for Christmas and for New Years, and I haven’t had the time to use them up until now. Such is the life of the busy designer and waitress. Oh my!

To the local mall, I went. In search of amazing goodies. I bought a lot of things at Best Buy, but not anything amazing. I wanted a 3DS and an iPad, but I definitely don’t have enough money for that. I’m hoping to get a credit card soon, though! That will help. I went into other stores where I had gift cards and coupons, like to Hot Topic with a gift card and Guess with my guess coupons. I purchased some clothes and cheap bead necklaces. I’m feeling like a fancy pants!

Thanks to everyone who gave me amazing Christmas gifts like the gift cards and coupons. I prefer getting those, than getting a gift that you aren’t sure I’ll like. At least this way I’m able to buy what I want from a particular store or outlet, so it works.

Smokers, anyone?

by @dm1n

I’m not a huge fan of smoking, I don’t particularly like the smell or the taste of it. But I know a lot of people out there, men, women, and what have you (aliens?) smoke. What are you experiences with smoking? Do you have any relatives that smoke? Are you a fan, or a hater? Who in your life, if anyone has changed your perception of smoking?

I had a lot of people that smoked in my life. Mother, uncles, aunts, what have you. I didn’t like it because they’d box in the smoke. Boxing in is when you sit in your car with the windows rolled up and smoke. Unfortunately I was in the car with them. Imagine being a little kid, inside all that stinky, awful smoke?

For those of you that do smoke, do you prefer cigarettes or cigars? My mom’s husband prefers cigars, so places like daily cigar deals really appeal to him. Would you buy cigarettes or cigars from a web site? Have you heard of the electronic ones? Those are amazing! They don’t stink and aren’t bad for you at all.

Mothers day!

by @dm1n

I’m sad to say that I will be out of town on Mother’s Day, so I cannot spend it with people. But for those of you out there that want to spend mothers day with their family, and get them a few gifts, I have tips for you!

It doesn’t have to be fancy at all! You can take the family out for a special dinner in celebration. Or, the more traditional way, you can order flower delivery for that special mother in your life! Be it your wife and her new born, or your ma, or grandma, you can do this!

Pro Flowers is an amazing website that even right now at this late of an hour, you can order quick mothers day delivery for her! The website is beautifully crafted, bright and clean to look at! Not to mention that the amazing sales they’re having is wonderful, as well! If I weren’t trying to save for a car and stuff like that, I’d easily buy some of their beautiful bouquets! As for now, I’ll stick to the local stores’ flowers, okay? Nothing personal!

More Health Insurance?!

by @dm1n

Okay, okay. So I was looking for health insurance information lately for people and friends I know that don’t have health insurance. I have an amazing health insurance but a lot of my close friends don’t have health insurance!

Remember my recent post talking about looking for health insurance? Well, I just recently went into Walgreen’s and found that they had Blue Cross health insurance cards! Cards! As in, you pay for like a month of health insurance like a gift card, and give it to someone to use! Or at least that’s how I think it works!

Blue Cross and Blue Shield is in a lot of states, for example in Florida and North Carolina. If you’re looking for health insurance, I’d suggest googling your city or state, and then Blue Cross. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of information! And if you live in a big city like we do, you can find some cards in Walgreen’s! Isn’t that amazing?

Did I say Shoes?

by @dm1n

Remember in a previous blog post that I mentioned I went shopping? Well, I told you guys that I bought shoes, too! I have some really awesome shoes, from some of the great brands out there! And when I say great brands, I essentially mean brands that I consider great. Not exactly the most expensive or high class, but they’re an epic find none the less!

For example, I recently found some flats from American Eagle shoes at Payless! I also fell in love with easy spirit shoes! They’re gorgeous, if a bit pricey. I also love boots! I finally got my first pair of boots recently! They were from Sears and are super comfortable!

If you’re looking for shoes and you’re really on the cheap side, or you’re on the “I can’t spend money or I can’t pay for bills!” side, then I’d highly consider going to Sears, or Marshalls, or Payless! Hell, I went shopping for shoes at Goodwill recently! I found a ton of amazing shoes there for almost nothing! It was pretty crazy!

Epic Shopping!

by @dm1n

It’s no secret that I’m not a shopper. At least, a clothes shopper. I don’t like shopping for clothes. I don’t like shopping for shoes, for hair products, or anything like that. Hell, I’d be super happy if someone dropped me off at a local electronics store, you know?

But after a while, clothes and shoe shopping is a necessity! You need new clothes for work, school, anything! All of my clothes since I moved out, have been burnt and ripped no thanks to our awful washer and dryer. Well, mostly the dryer. The thing needs to be taken out back and shot, like a rabid dog. Old Yelller, any one? (does that movie still make anyone cry? Does it make you cry? Let me know!)

Lately I’ve taken the initiative to shop online instead! I’m usually around a computer at most times, and it’s just easier when you don’t have a car to shop online! I’ve been checking out clothes lines like Hot Topic for myself, and blac label clothing for my fiance. Those seem to be some pretty neat brands, if a bit expensive! Especially Hot Topic.

Do you guys have any alternatives for stores like Hot Topic? I love their stuff but it’s too costly!

Personalized Picture Frames

by @dm1n

I’ve been hard pressed to find a gift for my friend who is going to move to England for schooling. She’s dreamt about going to England to study since she was a kid, and now that she’s going, she’s been very nervous! I wanted to give her a cute, and unique gift, but something that would help her remember her dearest friends.

It was brought to my attention on Facebook that http://personalcreations.com has some lovely stuff for gifts. And indeed, they do! I fell in love with some of Personal Creations frames. I have to say that these are beautiful and unique frames! I’m not much for photos, well being in them. And since she’s a photography student, I have to say that some of these are perfect!

For example, the “I heart photo collages” one is super cute. Not to mention how wickedly cool the “Large photo vase” is! You can keep your photos *and* your flowers in them!

I’m sure Courtney will love some of these as going away presents. Time to start ordering!

Electric what?!

by @dm1n

The love and I walked into Sears the other day. To start with, we are not old farts. We know how technology works. We surround ourselves with technology every day. Tech such as: Computers, usb headphones, iPods, Android cell phones, tablets, etc. So we are not tech noobs.

And as I said, we walked into Sears. As geeks, we headed to the electronic section. And lo and behold, between the electronic section and the home section, there were electric… Everything! Electric soap dispensers, an electric blanket, electric ice cream scoopers, electric hand dryers… Holy cow! Were did all this stuff crop up from?!

We haven’t exactly been living under rocks, but I can’t remember the last time I went shopping in a place that didn’t try selling you a Playstation 3 upon entering the store.

Or beef. We shop for food a lot.

Oh, shoes… How I want thee!

by @dm1n

First of all, forgive me for not posting in a bit! Also, I’m really sorry for the blog being offline a tiny bit, as well.

I lost all my posts due to a WordPress hacking on my previous host. I’m now hosted by a much better, more reputable company. I guess the saying is true- You get what you pay for. I was really disheartened to see almost two years of work, completely gone. ):

You know what’s also disheartening? Realizing you’ve never had boots. This is a ridiculous statement, of course. “How dare I never have had boots in my life”, sounds just dumb. But I love boots. I think they just look wonderful!

I’ve always wanted a pair (or three) of boots. We went to Sears (I forget why, now. I think just random shopping) and I fell in love with some ankle boots. Black, sleek, pointy-toed. Augh. Then I started looking at the other boots Sears had, like the riding boots, knee high boots, leather boots, fur-lined boots… I wish I could wear them!

Sad to say, that I have absolutely no balance. I couldn’t wear them even if I owned them. How sad is that?

… At the end of a long, long day. It’s really nice to unwind. Or pine for something.
