Ah, the smell of fiction

Once upon a time, I used to love reading books. My vision hasn’t been doing all that well lately, so I’ve had to step away from reading novels.
Stephen King, Anne Rice, Robert Jordan… Oh man. I used to read like a beast. Anyone remember The Phantom Tollbooth? Possibly one of my favorite books of all time. I’d still read it if I could, despite being a children’s book. I saw the movie (from the sixties, but they’re remaking it so I hear. but what isn’t being remade nowadays?), and it was pretty fun. Animated musical.
Not the best songs in the world, either. But still.
Do you read? What kind of books or magazines do you like reading?

The Phantom Tollbooth? THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH?! Oh, that’s one of my favorite books from my childhood! I’ll never forget the edible letters and the princesses Rhyme and Reason!
Anyway, I love reading and lately I’ve gotten into the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It’s funny and suspenseful!

I used to love reading as well… I actually bought Anne Rice’s entire vampire series (or at least the books that were out at the time) in high school and read those over 2 weeks straight -.-
i guess my passion with reading sort of died when I had more of a social life and discovered the internet. These days, so much information can be found online that books are slowly becoming more obsolete.

Woah I never read books, only if I have to do it. Some titles/names are familiar that you mention in your post… I only read a book or magazine if there’s something intresting in it. Besides that I only read the news paper. Yet I prefer to read manga ;D

That`s lots of books right there! It`s a great gift being able to read a lot! My attention span is low and my free time is limited. :(! I`m trying to read, “Get a Grip on Philosophy” right now as a start to reading again :P! Hope your vision comes back to normal! :)!

I’m probably the most manic reader in the world. I read everything I see in front of me since three years old. It means comic books, complicated novels or fashion magazines.
And I agree with you: they are remaking everything nowadays, even the classics! Like, if they are classics is because they are classics.> _ <It doesn´t needed a new version.
