HostmyHeart.com: Huge changes and staff openings
[Update March 13th 2010]: I’ve created a page dedicated to people who want to volunteer. Please use the form on the volunteer page instead of the usual contact form. Volunteer for HostmyHeart.com.
As some of my more loyal visitors would remember (ha, who am I kidding?), I posted about a paid hosting project I opened up in early February. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here is the original post:

Well, it was more like me excitedly telling people to register. Although I did see some surprising success since I’ve opened shop, morally I’ve been facing a huge dilemma. I just feel really, really bad charging people for hosting. I really do. I’ve made some light money from it (thank you, to those of you that have paid to be hosted), but at the end of the day I feel awful.
And I know how hard it is to find a decent host for a low price point. I’ve been searching high and low the last week for something I could pay for on a crappy amount of savings I have. So, after much thought, I’ve come to a big and awesome decision. Through the Twitter account, (livejournal and tumblr, too), you saw that I dropped prices. This is even better.
HostmyHeart.com will only offer free hosting from now on. And it’s going to be maintained by awesome people like you.
Plans will be free, hosting will be free. But in order to stay around, HostmyHeart.com will rely on donations from wonderful people out there, and members. This huge change had to happen. I didn’t feel right charging others. But I still want to build up to owning a virtual private server for the website and hostees. So with your help, it can happen!
Those of you that originally paid, should have already received their money back through PayPal.
I want to be able to offer hosting free of charge. But try to give the members paid-quality support. I’m currently working on the forum, customizing the ticket support center, and getting a registration / hosting panel up and running.
And in light of this, I’m looking into hiring volunteer staff to help out. I’m mainly looking for a moderator for the forum at this point. If you’re interested, use the Contact form and let me know, or leave a comment.

Aw, I think a free hosting service is an excellent idea! It IS pretty hard finding a good free host out there. I used a free hosting service for awhile and I got the bare minimum of features and space and the servers were almost always down.
Anyway, I looked at your volunteer page and was curious about the promoter position. Is it just “spreading the word” about the service? :]
